Frequently asked questions and answers about the Chinese Crested and our kennel.
What is the Chinese Crested's temperament like?
A friendly, affectionate and sensitive small companion dog that most of all wants to be close to its owner. When well socialised, it gets along with children and other dogs.
What is the difference between the hairless and powderpuff varieties?
Hairless dogs only have hair on the head (crest), feet (socks) and tail (plume); the rest of the skin is hairless. Powderpuff dogs are covered with a long, silky coat. Both varieties belong to the same breed and can even be born in the same litter.
How demanding is their care?
The skin of hairless dogs needs protection from the sun (UV protection) and from the cold (winter clothing), and regular care. The coat of powderpuffs needs regular brushing. Dental care deserves special attention in both varieties.
How much exercise do they need?
A small companion (about 2.5–5.5 kg) with moderate exercise needs: daily walks and play are enough, and it feels great in an apartment too.
How does buying a puppy work?
You can get in touch via the Contact page. The puppies go to their new homes microchipped, with the required vaccinations, a pedigree and an EU pet passport, and you can count on my help after the sale as well.
Where can I find the dogs' health screening results?
The health screenings and results of each dog can be found in the Our dogs menu, on the dog's own page.
